INSIGHTS #2 - UDEMY COURSE DATA ANALYSIS

Well, it’s been a while I haven’t posted anything. So here it is. During the COVID-19 Lockdown lots of things, I have learned about Tableau Software and I am gradually getting smitten by this software. I could see the reason now behind the popularity of this tool and the main factor is simplicity. With Simplicity, it empowered its users with appropriate tools to visualize all sorts of data. At first, I started learning this software just out of curiosity but now I am totally in love with this software. I am starting my INSIGHTS series content where I would be sharing my own understanding of data which is readily available on various dataset sites.
Recently I tried my hands on some datasets in KAGGLE. Other than LinkedIn Learning there are various eLearning platforms in the market and one of them is Udemy. In the current scenario, there are more than 10 million users who are using this platform all over the world and its subscribers are increasing day by day. So out of curiosity, I fetched Udemy dataset from Kaggle, it is freely available. Using that I started creating some visualizations. Well creating visualization was easy for me but the insights it provided were priceless.
Here is the link of the Dashboard on Tableau Public:

Some of the insights which I was able to collect from these visualizations are mentioned below:

INSIGHT 2.1: Based on the dataset UDEMY offers only 1.21 % of Expert level courses which is very low compare to beginner levels which stand at 28.41 %. From these data, it showcases that Udemy is trying to pursue beginner learners more compare to advance knowledge ones. This strategy helps as those kinds of content is easy to create and has a good amount of subscriber base as well
INSIGHT 2.2: If we consider Subjects which Udemy offers most of the courses are `Web Development related which stands around 67.87%. While Musical instruments related course stands at 7.20% which is the lowest
INSIGHT 2.3: To get more proof on INSIGHT 2.2 I digged in more and observed that the course from which Udemy earns a lot is from Web Development Bootcamp courses. This affirms a lot why Udemy is investing more to create more Web Development content compare to other subjects.
INSIGHT2.4: If we compare price and subscribers of Udemy one thing comes out of this dataset is that this eLearning platform earns very less from its highly subscribed course which is very interesting.

I had a ball while learning many visualization techniques in Tableau. I`ll use them in a further series of  `INSIGHTS`. Until then Stay Tuned. :)

Please note: All the insights is solely based on the datasets available on Kaggle which was attempted just for learning purpose. Please use your discretion before making any assumptions.
